“Byrd Abbott took over the sale of our mother’s house after we had a disappointing experience listing it with another real estate agent. Byrd quickly demonstrated that she was a total professional; she knew the local market and she also came up with very creative ideas to improve the outdated floor plan without doing major remodeling. She then recommended different professionals needed to do the job and she coordinated them all. Because our mother had already moved to a retirement home and we live out of state, Byrd essentially acted as a general contractor although this isn’t normally expected of a realtor. She paid attention to every detail, including suggesting a new way to stage the house that was more appropriate to our target market than the original staging. In addition to all this, she also helped resolve various real estate problems as they arose, including an encroaching fence as well as a sewer line easement issue. One potential sale fell through at the last minute, but Byrd was right there with suggestions on how we could recoup some of the money that was lost while the house was off the market by doing a bit more updating and re-listing at a higher price. As usual, her advice was golden.
